Isabella Illawong

Architecture | BKK Architects

Isabella Illawong is a 70-metre long and 3-metre wide pedestrian bridge that spans over Kororoit Creek, linking the municipalities of Brimbank and Melton, in northwest Melbourne. Given the challenges of access to the ecologically sensitive site, the bridge structure is designed to be broken into ‘modular’ segments of girder beam, bridge deck and balustrade assemblies. These segments are significantly shorter and lighter than a conventional bridge structure; improving transport, handling, lifting and on-site safety during construction. Jordan led the documentation of this project in 2020 during tenure with BKK Architects.
