Design Coordination
With qualifications in both Architecture and Construction Management, Jordan Bell provides the unique combination of genuine design rigour at concept stage and the construction-delivery skills required to achieve successful architectural outcomes. Founded on the principle that great design outcomes are achieved through close partnership with clients, architects and builders — our practice has recently grown to offer virtual Design Coordination services to builders, via our sister company, ARCH. Design Office.
ARCH. Design Office is based in Geelong, Victoria, but operates across Australia and the UK. For builders looking for information about our virtual Design Coordination services, please get in touch.

Contemporary new build in Oxshott, Surrey, featuring three interconnected glass pavilions with floating cantilevered concrete roof that form a detached single-storey residence.
Similar to the GwendolenAvenue project, Jordan was engaged by the main contractor as a Design Coordinator during construction, working remotely from Australia to the UK. His role was primarily to serve as intermediary between the Architects and the Site Manager to resolve all design-related queries. In this scenario, by leveraging the different timezones, Jordan effectively worked through the night - resulting in faster response times and minimised delays during construction.

A substantial, seven bedroomed, double-fronted detached house and separate double garage located in Putney. The project, designed by Bureau de Change Architects with interiors by Munro, is to demolish the existing rear and side extensions to the house and replace them with two contemporary single storey additions clad in travertine and aluminium, with low-profile zinc roofs. Along with this, the existing crown roof is to be extended to increase the second storey, and a new 80-square-metre basement added.
Jordan was engaged by the main contractor to serve as their Design Coordinator for the duration of construction. Responsibilities included overseeing Contractor’s Design Portion obligations; coordination of other consultants and specialist suppliers; administration of the Information Release Schedules; submission of product proposals to Contract Administrator & Building Control Officer; raising Requests for Information on design or specification; communication of key information from the drawings, schedules, NBS and manufacturer instructions to Site Management; and flagging design-related Variations, Anticipated Delays and Extension of Time claims.
